A Hindu ceremony is one of my favorites to photograph. It is also one of the most difficult. Every bead is a simple, every bite of food, a dedication of honor and respect.

The day was 3.14.26 and I photographed an elopement. The ceremony was in front of this make shift backdrop, which was simply a sheet over a circle ring, like a table. Immediately I thought it looked like a huge soft box, so I put two remote flashes behind it and made it so! The bride was a film director and the groom, an actor. It just felt right to do this with them!

October Sun

Stephen Magnotta October 6, 2026

I shoot in this location a lot, and recommend it to many of my photographer friends and clients. But this day…the October sun made me think I should only shoot here in October!! Believe it or not, this is for a graduation senior portrait.
